Abstract
The arylidenes 2 containing an alpha, beta- unsaturated ketonic function (- CH=CH-CO-) have been used as a component of Michael addition with equimola r amounts of 2-aminopyridine to give 3 in a single step. Four compounds 3b, 3d, 3j and 31 display notable herbicidal activity as compared to 2, 4-D, w hen tested under similar conditions.
