Abstract
The reaction between titanium and zirconium isopropoxides in isopropanol, o ccasionally in the presence of barium isopropoxide, was studied at differen t temperatures. No complexation between the titanium and zirconium alkoxide s was detected. A concentration region was revealed in which the three alko xides coexist in solution. Crystalline, fine-particle BaZr0.1Ti0.9O3 powder was prepared at 80 degreesC by the alkoxide method. Its morphology was com pared with that of a powder of identical composition prepared by the alkoxi de-hydroxide method.
