Abstract
A new kinetic phenomenon related to the effect of electron-electron sc attering on the thermoelectric coefficient eta in a conductor with a s mall electron mean free path l is considered. The effect is proportion al to the electron-hole asymmetry factor (epsilon(F) tau)(-1) and the real part of the diffusion-enhanced Coulomb propagator with characteri stic wave vectors of up to l(-1) Unlike weak localization effects, in the two-dimensional case this effect results in a logarithmic temperat ure dependence of eta and yields the major contribution to the differe ntial thermoelectric power.
