Abstract
A wide range of tunability (1030-1100 nm) was demonstrated with an Yb:YAG l aser crystal. The measured bandwidth of Deltav similar to 70 nm corresponds to the Fourier-limited pulse width of Deltat similar to 17 fs. This result indicates a new potential of the Yb:YAG as a direct laser-diode (LD)-pumpe d femtosecond laser amplifier.
