Abstract
An accurate and reproducible method for the direct determination of vanadiu m in beer using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (IC P AES) with an ultrasonic nebulization system is described. The analytical conditions were optimized in order to achieve the appropriate sensitivity. Samples were digested with a 1 : 1 nitric acid-perchloric mixture. The anal ytical detection limit was 0.4 mug/L, and the relative standard deviation w as 2.8% at the 10 ng/mL V levels. The method was applied to determine vanad ium (15.9-244.3 mug/L) in 1 1 different samples of beer widely consumed in the Argentine Republic.
