Abstract
A general method for the synthesis of C-14-acrylic acid is described in det ail, The material is used for the synthesis of a range of radiolabeled poly (acrylic acid)s in which the C-14-label forms an integral part of the polym er backbone. The chemical structure of the synthesized polymers is examined in the light of spectroscopic data, molecular weight determinations, and r heological studies, (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
