Abstract
Bending and drawing processes are analyzed in stainless steel sheet forming using solid element and finite-strain formulation by the Finite Element Co de MARC. In bending deformation, the springback increases through augmentat ions of the clearance between punch and workpiece. Divergences between theo retical and experimental results occur due to the simplification of the con tact condition at the die-workpiece interface. For the square cup deep draw ing process which includes bending and drawing deformation modes, the lubri cation conditions are critical factors for producing sound products. Aii th e results derived from the FEM analysis show reasonable agreement with the experimental data. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
