Abstract
The [{MeC(CH2PPh2)(3)}Re(CO)(2)](+) auxiliary has been found to activate l- ethynyl-l-cyclohexanol and 1-phenyl-2-propyn-1-ol yielding a variety of eta (1)-carbon ligands, which includes hydroxyvinylidene, alkenylvinylidene, a lkoxycarbene, eta (1)-C-sp-enynyl, secondary allenylidene, acyl, hydroxycar bene and alkoxycarbene groups. The reactivity of the allenylidene complex [ {MeC(CH2PPh2)(3)}Re(CO)(2){C=C=C(H)Ph}](+) toward water and methanol has be en investigated. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
