Abstract
Thermal reaction of iron aminocarbene complexes bearing aromatic substituen t (CO)(4)Fe=(Ar)N(CH3)(2) with methyl acrylate, acrylonitrile and methyl vi nyl ketone furnishes 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds - formal products of Michael addition of an acyl anion and the alkene. Nonactivated, di- and trisubstitu ted alkenes are unreactive under the same conditions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Sci ence B.V. All rights reserved.
