Many, well-preserved anterior nectophores of Lensia asymmetrica Stepan
jants, 1970 (Siphonophorae, Diphyidae) have been found in recent colle
ctions from the Southern Ocean. These show that there is not a superfi
cial and incomplete reticulation present on their surfaces, as previou
s described. In association with this material, many eudoxid bracts, a
nd a few posterior nectophores and gonophores have been found, These a
re attributed to the same species and descriptions given of all these
parts.
