Abstract
Radical allylation of trifluoromethylated xanthates allows the preparation of quaternary carbon centers bearing the trifluoromethyl group. An excess o f the allyltributyltin reagent must be used in order to achieve satisfactor y yields of the adducts. The excess of reagent could be conveniently remove d by the use of diethylazodicarboxylate (DEAD). (C) 2001 Elsevier Science L td. All rights reserved.
