STUDIES AND APPLICATIONS OF CORROSION-INH IBITOR IMC-80

A series of compounds, with amine and alkynyl-oxygen alkyl groups in t he molecular structure, were synthesized. Based on the synthesized com pounds, a new corrosion inhibitor IMC-80 was formulated and its perfor mance was investigated using weight loss and electrochemical methods i n brine saturated with CO2 and hydrochloric acid solution. The results show that the inhibitor has a higher inhibition effeciency in acid me dium, oil well, sewage and water soluted a little H2S and CO2. The inh ibitor has been used to protect oil well and its pipeline from corrosi on, the inhibition effeciency is more than that of CI-203 made in U.S. A.
