The rheological behavior and dispersion stability of magnetic powder s
uspension were studied. With the aid of hyperdispersants having poly (
epsilon-caprolactone) as solvatable chian, the viscosity of the suspen
sion was lowered and the dispersion stability was improved obviously.
The effect of the hyperdispersants was the result of both the type of
the anchoring group and the molecular weight of the solvable chain. Wh
en the molecular weight of the solvatable chain is 700 and the anchori
ng group is the mixture of carboxyl and tertiary amine, the hyperdispe
rsant, has the best effectiveness.
