In the title compound, [ZnCl2(C14H12N2)(2)], the environment around the Zn atom is distorted tetrahedral formed by two Cl atoms and two tertiary N ato ms of the 2-benzyl-1H-benzimidazole ligands. N-H . . . Cl intermolecular hy drogen bonds link the molecules into infinite chains in the [101] direction .
