The temperature dependences of electrical conductivity and the Seebeck coef
ficient for some new aromatic polysulfones are investigated. Measurements w
ere performed using thin films deposited from the solution. and it was foun
d that the polymers studied show semiconducting properties. Some correlatio
n between these properties and the chemical structure and molecular weights
of the polymers are established. The nature of the electrical conduction m
echanism in the investigated polymers is discussed. (C) 2001 Acta Materiali
