Abstract
Niaspan, when added to a stable dose of a statin in 66 subjects, was found to be safe and highly effective in improving lipid parameters. Subgroup ana lyses demonstrated its effectiveness in lowering low-density lipoprotein ch olesterol in persons not at the National Cholesterol and Education Program low-density lipoprotein cholesterol target and in raising high-density lipo protein cholesterol in persons with levels <40 mg/dl.
