K. Yoshinaga et al., Anti-lymphoma effect of Naproxen and indomethacin in a patient with relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, AM J HEMAT, 66(3), 2001, pp. 220-223
A 77-year-old man with relapsed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, diffuse large B-cel
l type, was treated with naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (N
SAID), for paraneoplastic fever.
A dramatic disappearance of not only the fever but also generalized lymphad
enopathy was observed. Naproxen was continued, and he maintained remission
far 10 months. When relapse of lymphoma occurred in spite of continuous nap
roxen administration, indomethacin, another type of NSAID, was tried. Surpr
isingly, rapid regression of lymphoma occurred again and was maintained for
almost 1 year, These results indicate that NSAIDs are effective in some pa
tients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Am. J, Hematol. 66:220-223, 2001, (C) 2
