Abstract
There is an urgent need for analytical techniques to study biological event s at the cellular level. Making measurements on such a minute scale introdu ces new obstacles to be overcome, one of which is interferences caused by p hysical walls. The article describes an innovative acoustic levitation tech nique that promises the ability to perform routine cellular and sub-cellula r investigations.
