S. Boveda et al., Prophypactic value of the automatic implantable defibrillator: a case report of asymptomatic Brugada's syndrome., ARCH MAL C, 94(1), 2001, pp. 79-84
The authors report the case of an asymptomatic 32 year old man with no fami
ly history of sudden death but with ECG changes suggesting Brugada's syndro
me. He underwent implantation of an automatic defibrillator after inducible
syncope ventricular fibrillation had been demonstrated during electrophysi
ological investigation. The later occurrence of three episodes of Ventricul
ar fibrillation treated by the defibrillator confirmed a posteriori the log
ic of this therapeutic approach.
