A. Yoshihara et al., BROAD-BAND LIGHT-SCATTERING FROM GLASS-FORMING PROPYLENE-GLYCOL, Progress of theoretical physics. Supplement, (126), 1997, pp. 423-426
The broadband chi ''(w) spectra of propylene glycol at several tempera
tures between 363 K and 240 K were analyzed using a three-relaxator mo
del which consists of the alpha and fast relaxations, and the boson pe
ak. The resonance frequency of the alpha-relaxation obeys the VTF law,
and the others are independent of temperature. The reduced chi ''(w)
spectra for the alpha and fast relaxations were compared with the MCT
predictions. MCT gives reasonable descriptions only for the temperatur
e dependence of the chi ''(w) minimum frequency and the high-frequency
tail of the alpha-relaxation in the MCT scaled chi ''(w) spectra.
