M. Mazik et W. Sicking, Molecular recognition of carbohydrates by artificial receptors: Systematicstudies towards recognition motifs for carbohydrates, CHEM-EUR J, 7(3), 2001, pp. 664-670
The synthesis and binding properties for carbohydrates of several artificia
l, acyclic receptors containing two or three heterocyclic recognition units
covalently attached to a phenyl spacer is described. These host molecules
having uncharged hydrogen-bonding sites were used in a systematic study tow
ards the evaluation of recognition motifs for carbohydrates. A novel effect
ive, acyclic hydrogen-bonding receptor possessing naphthyridine-amide moiet
ies as heterocyclic recognition units has been developed.
