S. Fagien et Fs. Brandt, Primary and adjunctive use of botulinum toxin type a (Botox) in facial aesthetic surgery - Beyond the glabella, CLIN PLAST, 28(1), 2001, pp. 127
A better understanding of the causation of most facial lines and soft-tissu
e malposition has allowed for more effective treatment. Since the initial d
escription for the use of botulinum toxin type A (Botox) for the treatment
of glabellar frown lines was stated, it is apparent that chemodenervation i
s essential for various treatments. It aids in the treatment of primary dyn
amic facial rhytides, the adjunctive treatment for a variety of facial plas
tic surgical procedures, and has a distinct role in prophylaxis. In this ar
ticle, the author (SF) describes his experiences with the most current indi
cations for Botox in facial aesthetics.
