Abstract
We propose a novel and efficient method for identifying the spatial distrib ution of fractures and faults of field-scale porous media, such as oil rese rvoirs and groundwater aquifers. The method is based on wavelet transformat ion of the porosity logs, and is demonstrated by its applications to synthe tic as well as real data.
