A system has been developed for stabilizing the temperature of an uncooled
microbolometer array, using a thermoelectric cooler (TEC). Tests of the sys
tem showed that, when the thermal load of the TEC and the ambient temperatu
re were varied within given limits, the temperature of a simulator of the a
rray deviated from the setting of T = 16 degreesC by no more than +/-0.0025
