Abstract
A stepwise chirping of the periodicity of a chiral sculptured film is shown to considerably enhance the bandwith of the Bragg regime, thereby extendin g the frequency range of operation as a circular-polarization filter. (C) 2 001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
