Sm. Rao et Ml. Waller, Development and application of adaptive basis functions to generate a diagonal moment matrix for electromagnetic field problems, MICROW OPT, 28(5), 2001, pp. 357-361
In this work, we present a novel numerical technique, using a specially con
structed adaptive basis functions set, to generate a diagonal matrix while
applying the well-known method of moments (MoM) to electromagnetic field pr
oblems. Obviously, the crucial step in the numerical procedure is the const
ruction of the basis set for a given problem. Since the present technique g
enerates a diagonal matrix, this amounts to a considerable savings in terms
of computer storage/CPU requirements. Finally, we present some representat
ive numerical examples involving two-dimensional cylinders of arbitrary cro
ss section subjected to transverse magnetic (TM) incidence to demonstrate t
he validity of this new method. (C) 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
