Abstract
The synthesis or 2-(4-substituted)butyl derivatives of 4-alkoxy-2,3-dihydro -6-methyl-1,3-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine (10-15) and the results of pr eliminary pharmacological screening are described in this paper. All the co mpounds tested showed a strong analgesic action, suppressed spontaneous loc omotor activity and prolonged barbiturate sleep. Except 10, all significant ly decreased systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
