Fundamental results obtained over the period of 1978-1999 on the basis of t
he author's novel technical solutions are described. Experimental data on t
ests of a new type of superconducting magnets for particle accelerators are
given. The elements of the synchrotron magnetic optics have determined the
feasibility of construction of the nuclotron, which is the first operating
superconducting accelerator in Russia to provide beams of relativistic nuc
lei with energies up to 6 GeV/nucleon. The new technology used in the nuclo
tron allows one to radically simplify the design of superconducting magnet
systems of accelerators and channels for particle transportation. The new m
agnets are convenient to operate and are low in cost.
