Abstract
Tetraphenylantimony 2,3- and 2,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonates were prepared fr om pentaphenyl-antimony and the corresponding triphenylantimony disulfonate s. According to results of single crystal X-ray diffraction study, the anti mony atom in 2,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonate has a trigonal bipyramidal config uration with the axial oxygen atom of the sulfo group. The Sb-O bond length is 2.464(4) Angstrom, and the Sb-C bond lengths, 2.101(6), 2.102(6), 2.111 (7), and 2.131(6) Angstrom; the CaSbCe angles are 99.4(2)degrees, 97.1(2)de grees, and 100.9(3)degrees, and the CaSbO angle is 175.2(2)degrees.
