Abstract
The reaction of (-)cis-dichlorobis(S-methyl p-tolyl sulfoxide)platinum(II) with cycloocta-1,5-diene was studied. The kinetic and thermodynamic paramet ers of the reaction were determined. The applicability of the method of opt ical rotation dispersion to the reaction monitoring was demonstrated. A for mula for the calculation of the substrate conversion in a chiral compositio n was proposed.
