Abstract
Many peptides of aquatic origin involving unusual amino acids have interest ing biological activities as well as unique structures. in addition, the sc arce availability of these peptides has prompted synthetic chemists to expl ore their synthesis suitable for the production of sufficient quantities. T he proposed structures will be firmly established by chemical synthesis. Th is review describes recent efforts on the synthesis of unusual amino acids and on the total synthesis of various peptides of aquatic origin.
