Abstract
The synthesis of adenosine and uridine analogues belonging to a new cl ass of carbocyclic analogues of nucleosides is reported. These analogu es have the heterocyclic base and the hydroxymethyl group attached to contiguous carbons of a cyclobutane ring, and were prepared by constru ction of the base about the primary amino group of the corresponding c yclobutylamino alcohol.
