Abstract
A method is described for the free radical functionalisation of ethanolamin e at the carbon atom alpha to nitrogen. The key step of the methodology is a 1,5-hydrogen atom abstraction to produce an alpha-aminoalkyl radical at C -4 of a 1,3-oxazolidine. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved .
