From the ripe fruits of red paprika (Capsicum annuum) prenigroxanthin, a mi nor carotenoid was isolated and, based on the spectral data and the propose d biosynthesis, identified as (all-E,3R,3'S,6'S)-beta,gamma -carotene-3,3', 6'-triol. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
