Abstract
Treatment of aromatic, heterocyclic, aliphatic, conjugated, and polyhydroxy aldehydes with iodine in ammonia water at room temperature for a short per iod gave the corresponding nitriles in high yields. (C) 2001 Elsevier Scien ce Ltd. All rights reserved.
