Abstract
The structure of tetraethyleneglycoldimethylether magnesium bromide has bee n determined by direct methods. The crystal is monoclinic, space group Cc w ith a = 15.1276(5) Angstrom, b = 21.5603(8) Angstrom, c = 11.0552(4) Angstr om, beta = 118.76(1)degrees and Z = 8. The structure contains two symmetric ally independent molecules in the unit cell and sevenfold coordinated Mg at oms in the center of the tetraethyleneglycoldimethylether ligands.
