Abstract
A decomposition of input adjustments for stochastic technologies is develop ed and applied to the case of actuarially fair production insurance. The de composition consists of a pure-risk effect and an expansion effect which ar e analogous to the Hicks-Alien decomposition familiar from consumer theory.
