Abstract
Observations have been made using the University of Durham Mark 6 telescope of the nearby X-ray selected BL Lacs PKS 2005-489 and PKS 0548-322 which s hould be strong candidates as sources of TeV emission. We find no evidence for long-term emission of VHE gamma rays from these sources in extended mea surements covering similar to 2 years. We find 3 sigma limits to the VHE ga mma ray flux of 0.79 x 10(-11) cm(-2) s(-1) above 400 GeV for PKS 2005-489 and 2.4 x 10(-11) cm(-2) s(-1) above 300 GeV for PKS 0548-322.
