Abstract
The influence of inoculation with Fusarium culmorum (W.G.Sm) Sac. on yield performance of 2-rowed and 6-rowed barley doubled haploid (DH) lines was st udied in a 3-year field experiment. The following traits were analysed: ker nel number and weight per ear, 1000-kernel weight, percentage of plump kern els (>2.5 mm) and germination rate. The inoculated lines were compared with the control using univariate and multivariate statistical methods. It was found that mean values of the studied traits were significantly reduced as a result of infection. The reduction was greater for 6-rowed lines than for 2-rowed lines. The inoculation with F. culmorum resulted in a decrease in differences between 2-rowed and 6-rowed genotypes, especially in the case o f kernel weight per ear. No positive transgression in relation to the whole complex of yield traits was observed in any of the studied lines.
