Hw. Gao et al., Updated determination of properties of noble metal complexes with o-sulfobenzeneazo rhodanine by beta-correction spectrophotometry, CHEM ANAL, 46(1), 2001, pp. 75-83
The updated operation for the determination of properties of metal complexe
s was devised. As an example the reactions were studied between the three n
oble metals (NM): Ag(I), Au(III) and Pt(IV) and o-sulfobenzeneazo rhodanine
(SBAR) in acidic solution. The beta -correction method was used to establi
sh the equation for the determination of properties of NM complex solutions
instead of the ordinary spectrophotometry because it was able to eliminate
the interference of the excess of the ligand in the reaction system. The m
etal to ligand ratios, the stepwise real molar absorptivity (epsilon) and s
tepwise or cumulative stability constant (K) of NM-SBAR complexes are prese
nted in this paper. The recommended method is more acceptable in theory and
simpler in execution than the classical method.
