We present a kinematic hard ellipsoid model of rotational transfer in diato
m-diatom collisions. The model extends the principles of the angular moment
um (AM) model of rotational transfer (RT) developed for atom-diatom collisi
ons and the hard ellipsoid model of the repulsive potential. Monte Carlo tr
ajectory calculations are performed on the Na-2 + H-2 system which show exc
ellent agreement with published experimental data, using only atomic masses
