Abstract
The chlorides (both inorganic and organic) and sulphur compounds in crude o il entering a refinery corrode the equipment, primarily condensers and cool ers, due to their hydrolysis and cracking during primary distillation of th e crude oil. The process stability of the units decreases as a result, and this does not allow increasing the interrepair periods and increases the co st of repair work.
