Angular distributions for the C-12(d, p)C-13 transfer reactions have been m
easured at Ed = 11.8 MeV, and compared with those of the DWBA calculations.
By means of this comparison, density distributions of the last neutron in
the ground state and the first 1/2(+) state of C-13 are extracted. The prop
erties of these states in C-13 have also been studied in the framework of t
he nonlinear relativistic mean-field theory with NL-SH parameters. It is fo
und that the first 1/2(+) state in C-13 is a neutron halo state shown by bo
th the experimental and theoretical density distributions of the last neutr
on.
