The ichthyofauna of the inland waters of Morocco.

A study, based on available literature, has been undertaken on the freshwat er fishes of Morocco, with the aim of establishing a preliminary list of ic hthyofauna for this country. Thirty native and 16 introduced species have b een found, all of them threatened by various factors, particularly domestic and industrial pollution, drought, dam building, water diversion, overfish ing. Practical measures should be taken in order to better protect this ric h ichthyofauna.
