Abstract
Based on the existing method, a more efficient algorithm for detecting all- zero DCT coefficient blocks before implementation of the discrete cosine tr ansform and quantisation in very low bit rare video coding is proposed. The problem of the existing method is shown and an improved algorithm is provi ded. Simulation shows that the new method improves the detecting performanc e by similar to 10-20%.
