Abstract
Two perovskite-type compounds (La1-xSmx)(0.5)Ca0.5MnO3 with x = 0 and 0.1 have been prepared, and the symmetry of the compounds is tetragona l. The ac susceptibility (chi) measurements show that there are three magnetic transition regions from 77 to 273 K for the two compounds. At 77 K, we have. observed that chi decreases, and the resistivity incre ases with time. Meanwhile a comparison between x = 0 and 0.1 compounds has been carried out.
