New affinity supports suitable for semi-continous baro-immunodesorption pro
cesses were developed. Home made rabbit polyclonal antibodies grafted onto
various carriers were used to purify E. coil beta -galactosidase from bacte
rial crude extracts. The high pressure desorption method was compared with
current elution techniques (i.e., high pH method and competition elution pr
ocedure). The properties and the efficiency of the different supports in th
e development of a semi-continous elution process are discussed.
