Abstract
A new Time-of-Flight (ToF) system with streak camera has been developed to determine the mass and energy of a heavy ion. This is first instance of app lication of the principle of the streak camera for a ToF detector of heavy ions. The performance test of a streak camera system was also carried out u sing a B-10 and C-12 beams of energy 2.5A MeV. The operating principle of t he new ToF detector for heavy ion detection, the expected time resolution, and the results of performance test are presented.
