Abstract
This paper reports the results of spectroscopic studies of 3d(2) ions, namely Cr4+ and Mn5+, doped in (i) garnet (Y3Ga5O12-YGG; Y3Al5O12-YAG ); (ii) melilite (SrGdGa3O7-SGGM) and (iii) apatite (Ca-10(PO4)(6)F-2- CFAP; Sr-10(VO4)F-2-SVAP) crystals.
