Abstract
We measured the D-5(2,1,0) --> F-7(0) fluorescence intensities and dec ay patterns of Sm2+:SrFCl in a temperature range between 12 K and RT. Further measurements of the D-5(0) --> F-7(0) decay patterns at RT wer e performed at pressures up to 80 kbar. The observation of their tempe rature and pressure dependence revealed the strong interconfigurationa l interaction between 4f(6) and 4f(5)5d(1). The experimental results w ere quantitatively analyzed in the context of the SCC model.
